Play-by-play man Ken “Hawk” Harrelson was livid after home plate umpire Mark Wegner tossed White Sox starter Jose Quintana for throwing behind a Rays batter on Wednesday. And commissioner Bud Selig was livid with Harrelson.

Selig and White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf met with Harrelson to talk with him about his on-air outburst.

“I talked to Bud Selig yesterday,” Harrelson told ESPN.com. “We had a talk. Actually, Bud talked and I listened. If it was a prize fight, they would have stopped it in the first round. I also talked to Jerry, and I listened to him as well. That’s all I really have to say.”

Harrelson was not at a loss for words on Wednesday during a rant that lasted over a minute.

“What in the hell are you doing? You’ve got be kidding me,” Harrelson, a notorious homer, shouted. “That is so bad. That is absolutely brutal. . . .That just tells you, here is an umpire in the American League that knows absolutely nothing about the game of baseball.”
