Conor McGregor’s father has provided a glimpse of where his son gets his fighting spirit.
Notorious, who suffered a fourth-round submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedovat UFC 229 on a chaotic night, is arguably the world’s most famous fighter.
But the Irishman’s family seemed determined to show they have dusted themselves off from that setback and are ready to go again.
And this time it could be dad Tony McGregor leading the way.
The Octagon star’s old man took to Instagram to showcase his punching abilities as he followed his child’s steps into the boxing ring.
And he looked pretty nifty despite being suited up and wearing shades as he laid into the pads at The Headon Boxing Academy in Dublin.
Conor McGregor became a worldwide name for his performances in MMA and soon became the headline attraction in UFC.
But in August 2017 he secured a lucrative fight of a different kind as he fought the legendary Floyd Mayweather in a blockbuster boxing showdown.
Unfortunately he was not able to shock the planet as he suffered as a tenth round stoppage loss to Money.
However, the $100 million-plus earnings will have done plenty to soften the blow.
Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov has turned down a nearly $15 million offer to have a rematch with McGregor.
The Russian lightweight champ will instead line up one final scrap against Tony Ferguson next year, says his uncle.
Nurmagomedov pocketed about $2 million for his fight with Notorious on Oct. 6, which has been withheld after sparking a mass brawl after his win.
The bad blood between the duo has caused rumors of a rematch after a record 2.4 million subscribers in the U.S. alone purchased the fight on pay-per-view.
But Khabib’s uncle, Alex, said there is no interest in fighting McGregor again and told him to “get in line.”
