Lost in the utter chaos over Khabib Nurmagomedov losing his mind and flipping out of the octagon and igniting a post-match brawl?
That appears to be all that matters to McGregor in the wake of a hard-fought submission at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night, after which a melee broke out and a UFC fight turned into an unsanctioned street fight, in and out of the cage.
A bruised and bloody McGregor was involved in the action, taking some shots and dishing some out as onlookers hopped into the octagon. But in the hours after the best-known UFC fighter in the world fell to 25-4 in MMA matches, he was ready for another.
UFC president Dana White spoke with McGregor, saying the fighter told him: “I don’t care about any of this [post-match fighting]. This doesn’t matter to me at all. That’s whatever.
“Obviously he’s upset about losing the fight,” White added.
The Irishman then used social media for his next vow.
“Good knock,” he wrote on Twitter. “Looking forward to the rematch.”
That, of course, is very much in doubt after the brawl, with a suspension (at least) surely coming for Nurmagomedov.
“I’ll be back,” McGregor wrote on Instagram.
