COOK LANDS WITH MAVS
Former St. John’s point guard Omar Cook, who left after his freshman year, has signed a two-year, free-agent deal with the Mavericks, a source told The Post last night.
Cook had recently been cut by the Nuggets, who acquired his rights from the Magic, who had drafted Cook in the second round, 32nd overall.
Sources told The Post that the Nuggets felt Cook was not physically and emotionally ready to play in the NBA. The source said the first year of the deal with Dallas is guaranteed, but the second is not.
