COPS
Thought I was in an episode of COPS the other night. Here are a couple Florida moments, one good, one not so good. It is a strange state of affairs here sometimes.
After a quiet dinner at IHOP â do I know how to live or do I know how to live — I was just about on my way out the door when I heard a big crash. To the left of me was a young lady who had decided to load up on all the syrups, trays and all else not nailed to the table, plus salt and pepper shakers, creamers and other items.
The bag she had placed everything in ripped and it all came crashing to the ground.
When the cops came, one of the young ladyâs friends started screaming that the waitress said they could take all that stuff with thme.
Only thing she didnât call the waitress a waitress, there was much, much bad language. The woman and her two friends were soon ushered out the door to talk it over with the cops.
Now for a better Florida moment. With a night game tonight I had time to take a long walk this morning. On the way out of the hotel in Clearwater near Route 60 I took a turn down a side road. There were three large man-made humps in the road to slow traffic.
Then I noticed why. There was a sign that noted: Peacock Crossing. And then I spotted four peacocks behind the sign.
Never saw that before.
Joba Chamberlain pitches tonight, should be a good one.
