SARATOGA SPRINGS – There were two stakes for fillies and mares on the turf today at the Old Spa, and they both almost ended in four-horse dead-heats.

In the opener, the $70,000 William B. Fasig at a mile-and-a-sixteenth over the inner course for New York-breds, Exclusive Scheme beat her stablemate Chestoria by a nose, with You Go West Girl a head back of Chestoria, and My Magic Moment another head back in fourth.

In the ninth race, the Grade 1, $500,000 Diana at a mile-and-an-eighth over the Mellon course, Proviso won by a head over Shared Account, who had a nose on Forever Together, who finished a head in front of Dynaslew.
