ALDEBURGH, England — English rider Lizzie Armitstead crashed while celebrating winning the first stage of the Women’s Tour of Britain on Wednesday and will miss the rest of the event.

After crossing the line with her arms in the air in the eastern England town of Aldeburgh, the Olympic road race silver medalist appeared to lose control and clipped photographers.

Armitstead was taken to a hospital but was later discharged without any serious injuries.
