Just two days after an undisciplined, sorry performance in a 5-1 loss to L.A. _ at home, no less _ FC Dallas fired coach Steve Morrow.

On Sunday, they’d suffered a humbling rout at the hands of the Galaxy at Pizza Hut Park, playing a man down after a cheap shot on David Beckham that justly drew a red card. Worse, after a 2-0-2 start, they’ll run their winless streak to four straight at 0-3-1.

Morrow was 15-17-8, replaced on an intrim basis by assistant Marco Feruzzi. Bruce Arena told reporters he’d be interested in a return to coaching, and it is believed that nothing in his settlement with the Red Bulls would prevent him from taking an MLS gig. But The Bruce’s wiseguy New York act playing deep in the heart of Texas? I’m having a hard time buying that one?
