LOS ANGELES — It is one of the most sought after invitations of the year, but English soccer star David Beckham said Thursday he is unsure if he will attend the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The wedding is booked for April 29 at London’s Westminster Abbey, but Beckham is due to play with the LA Galaxy two days later in Dallas, Texas.

When asked by the Los Angeles Times if he would be attending the wedding, he said: “We’ll have to wait and see. I’ll concentrate on playing and training here. That’s all I’m thinking about.”

“It’s a huge thing for our country to have a royal wedding,” he added. “I’m a big royal family fan, always have been. I was brought up by my grandparents and my parents to love the royal family.”

Beckham, who worked with the prince on England’s failed World Cup bid, and his wife Victoria are among the 1,900 invited guests.

Beckham also said he and Victoria were looking forward to the arrival of their fourth child this year, but would not confirm reports they are expecting a girl.

“We know what it is, but it’s going to remain private for a while,” he said. “When we’re ready to tell you, we’ll let you know.”

The pair, who have been married since 1999, have three sons — Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

“We’re having another baby, which we’re over the moon about,” Beckham added.

“My wife’s five months pregnant. She’s obviously very healthy and looking after herself, and we’ve got three boys who are very happy, so it’s a big year.”
