The Dolphins have claimed tight end Mickey Shuler Jr., son of the former Jets fan favorite, ahead of the teams’ meeting on Sunday.

The Sun Sentinel reports the Giants also were interested in Shuler, who was waived by the Vikings after he was inactive for the first two games.

The report points out “Mickey Shuler (Sr.) faced the Dolphins 16 times and was a persistent threat: 50 career catches against Don Shula’s boys for 478 yards and five touchdowns.”
