The long search is over.

HBO and the NFL announced on Monday that the Dolphins will participate in this year’s “Hard Knocks” series. Miami will follow the AFC East rival Jets, who did the documentary-style show two years ago. Due to the lockout, there was no “Hard Knocks” last year. The Jets were one of several teams that turned down the opportunity this season.

The show will chronicle the Dolphins’ training camp and will premiere on Aug. 7 at 10 p.m.

“We are looking forward to connecting with our many fans across the country as the program chronicles our 2012 training camp,” first-year head coach Joe Philbin said in a press release. “The series will highlight the outstanding men who comprise our team and represent our organization admirably, both on and off the field, as they compete for a coveted position on our roster.”
