BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Take heart, Giants fans: Not only are the Eagles incredibly young, but also they’re beat up.

Philadelphia’s first weekend of training camp looked more like an episode of “ER” with all of the key players going off on carts to the training room.

The Birds’ biggest concern remains wideout DeSean Jackson, who did not participate in either practice yesterday after an unspecified back injury Saturday.

The famously tight-lipped Eagles insisted Jackson’s injury was not serious, but his total absence yesterday was a red flag.

The injuries continued to mount as veteran cornerback Asante Samuel and third-down back Mike Bell both had to be carted off with hamstring injuries, guard Max Jean-Gilles was treated for dehydration and center A.Q. Shipley sprained his ankle.

With 13 draft picks in camp, the Eagles are so young that right tackle Winston Justice, who won’t turn 26 until Sept. 14, is practically one of the team’s elder statesmen.

Justice has made quite a career turnaround since his famously dismal debut in 2007 against the Giants, when he was torched by Osi Umenyiora for a staggering four sacks in one game.

It was a question whether Justice would ever recover from that disaster, but he started all 16 games last season.

“That game [against the Giants] still gives me nightmares, but it ended up making me a better player in the long run,” Justice said.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who is making a tour of various camps, is scheduled to stop in on the Eagles tomorrow.

Goodell is expected to meet with Michael Vick during his Eagles visit to discuss Vick’s controversial offseason, which included a shooting at the quarterback’s 30th birthday party in Virginia.
