SEATTLE – The Knicks coaching staff worked out Qyntel Woods after yesterday’s practice at Key Arena.
The Knicks are looking to fill their open roster spot after waiving Matt Barnes Saturday.
Woods was selected in the first round with the 26th pick by Portland three years ago coming out of junior college. The athletic small forward was released by the Celtics during training camp and played last season with Miami. Woods could sign a contract as soon as last night.
Larry Brown has said in recent weeks he has been looking to upgrade the small-forward postion and add a backup point guard.
Brown said Sunday there could be a “new face” in the locker room in their upcoming trip.
