Former Columbia men’s basketball coach Armond Hill has joined the Atlanta Hawks as the third assistant under coach Terry Stotts.

Hill, fired by Columbia following last season after a 2-25 campaign, was drafted ninth overall by the Hawks in the 1976 draft. He played eight years in the NBA, five with Atlanta, two with Seattle and one with Milwaukee.

Hill compiled a 72-141 record with the Lions.
