Over the past seven years, The Wildcat’s published pigskin forecasts have impressed the sporting world. Including the 1997-00 seasons in The Post, ‘Cat’s record in print for this period stands at 187-139 (57.3 percent) against the spread.
THE PICK
Falcons (+8) over SAINTS: This Civil War of the South annually generates virtually a collegiate atmosphere in the Superdome. Even without Jamal Anderson’s services, Chris Chandler and Co. have kept the Falcs competitive. Saints’ relief regarding their narrow escape at Carolina could leave the “mental” door open for Atlanta to be in this throughout. Take Dan Reeves and the eight points for one unit.
LAST WEEK: 1-1-1 (even units). Early injury to ace QB Krohn sealed Sun Devils’ doom (Arizona State, minus one unit). It’s so nice to wake up on a Sunday morning to news of a 66-7 final (Hawaii, plus one unit). Spirited second-half rally gave Tampa Bay a chance, but they couldn’t close the deal (Bucs, push).
SEASON: 6-6 (even units).
