A fan wearing a LeBron James Heat jersey was escorted from Cleveland’s game against the Yankees last night after hundreds of angry fans turned on him.

NJ.com reports the episode took place in the left-field bleachers during the sixth inning, causing security to escort the man from Progressive Field.

“Before he made it out, the mob of Clevelanders, with everything but torches and pitchforks, followed him all the way to the exit,” the report says. “They shouted obscenities and threw debris at the man and his sparkling new James jersey.

“Even when man exited the park, dozens of fans congregated inside the stadium gates just beyond the left-field fence to send him off by shouting more obscenities.”

The primary chant was “A**-hole! A**hole!”

The bleachers were more filled than usual with fans looking to catch Alex Rodriguez’s possible 600th career home run.

James this month left the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign with the Miami Heat, announcing the decision on an ESPN special.
