DONCASTER, England — A 40-year-old mother of three was making headlines across the UK Wednesday after she was sacked as a soccer team’s mascot, because she posed in her underwear to raise money for a children’s charity.
Tracy Chandler, of Sheffield, said she was furious at being told by Doncaster Rovers bosses that she was giving the organization a bad name — and she pointed out the team’s players stripped off for a charity calendar last season.
“Maybe they have forgotten but it wasn’t that long ago that some of the players did a naked calendar for charity with footballs strategically placed to protect their modesty,” said Chandler, who dresses in costume as Donny Dog at matches, according to the Sun.
Rovers officials declined to comment.
