If Scott Ferrall didn’t quit ESPN Radio/New York Friday night, he’s now fired.

Ferrall, the well-traveled sports radio naughty boy, walked out on his local ESPN show over 1050 AM, a few hours before air time Friday, claiming, according to ESPN, that he refused to work without a contract.

Ferrall’s three-month trial contract with the station had expired. Station management had tried to tone down his “Animal House” act and was as yet unwilling to sign him long term. Despite moments of clarity and even brilliance, Ferrall seemed wedded to his beer-and-a-burp schtick, first heard here on WFAN when Ferrall was nationally syndicated. Ferrall’s 7 p.m.-midnight, Monday through Friday slot will now be filled by ex-WFANer Don LaGreca.
