After having to endure an entire summer’s worth of stories about Cristiano Ronaldo’s imminent, dream move to Real Madrid, now the stories are starting again _ and it’s not even New Year’s! This is like Friday the 13th; this story just won’t die.

Manchester United and Real Madrid reportedly have a gentleman’s agreement to transfer the reigning World Player of the Year to the Bernabeu _ although there was nothing agreeable or gentlemanly about the Spanish giants’ overt tapping-up of Cr7 all summer.

They supposedly agreed in principle to the deal after their bitter brawl over the Portugal star, but colluded to keep it on the DL _ until the Spanish media blew the lid on the deal. Osentisbly.
