Finest, Bravest on the run
The Finest and the Bravest will take to the track in the Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden.
The famed, annual track and field competition, to be held Jan. 28, is in its 104th year, and to help mark the milestone, organizers have created a new event pitting the city’s cops against its firemen in the name of charity.
The NYPD will compete against the FDNY with a relay race of four runners each, sprinting one lap around the track for the title of “New York’s Fastest.”
This week, the two departments will have tryouts at the 168th Street Armory.
The Millrose Games is the second-oldest event in the Garden after the Westminster Dog Show, and many Olympians have used it as a tuneup for their gold medal dreams.
