The Foiled Again farewell four stops at the Meadowlands Racetrack on Saturday night.

Foiled Again, the richest Standardbred of all time with more than $7.6 million in earnings, will compete in Race 3, then, after a short rest, will meet and take pictures with his fans in front of the grandstand in the Big M’s “Backyard.”

As a 14-year-old pacer, Foiled Again must retire at the end of the year, and he is going out with a bang.

Co-owner Mark Weaver walked among the crowd at one of the stops and heard someone say: “He’s like the Babe Ruth of harness racing.”

Foiled has four stops left on his 18-venue tour and will retire New Year’s Eve at The Meadows in Pennsylvania.

“I think we appreciate how great he is and what a special horse he is,” said co-owner/trainer Ron Burke.

“When we took him to Prince Edward Island in Canada, the premier of Canada was on the front side of the track and [Foiled] was on the back side and [more people flocked to see Foiled than] the premier of Canada,” he added.
