There are six restaurants on the grounds of the Billie Jean National Tennis Center. If you’re looking to sit down for a bit, and shell out some cash, check them out.
Champions Bar and Grill
For those who feel like spending money — but getting one of the best meals at the Open, including steak and seafood — this is the place. Prices: $40-$50.
Aces
Less expensive than Champions, you can get seafood and Japanese cuisine (such as sushi). Prices: $25-$40.
Mojito Bar and Restaurant
For those wanting food with a Latin Flavor, this is the place. In addition to sandwiches, they offer salmon and lobster quesadillas, among other items. Prices: $15-$40.
Patio Café
What’s nice about this place is that it’s outdoors, and you can catch a glimpse of the game on the big screen. Stocked with a full bar, cocktails and wines will run about $12 a glass. As for the food, burgers are around $20 and specialty salads run about $25.
Heineken Red Star Café
More of a bar than a café, this is the place for bar food or a cold beer. Prices are cheaper than the other restaurants, but a beer will run you $7.50.
U.S. Open Club
You must have passes to get in (call 718-760-6200). Serves mainly pastas, salads and burgers Prices: $17-$30.
Food court
For those looking to grab a quick bite from one of the vendors in the food court, staples include hot dogs ($4.75), hamburgers ($8.50), chicken fingers ($9.50) and pizza ($9.00). Here are some other food court shops:
New Dehli Spice/ Chinatown: offer various Asian cuisine including beef, chicken and stir-fry. Prices: $8-$11.
Fresca Mexicana: burritos, quesadillas and tacos. Prices: around $10.
Fulton Seafood: shrimp, lobster and salmon. Prices: $12-$20.
Southern BBQ: pulled pork, brisket and ribs. Prices: $10.
Carnegie Deli: pastrami, corned beef or turkey sandwiches. Prices: $13.75.
For healthier alternatives, check out Stonyfield. Everything served here is organic, whether it’s a salad ($8.50) or a sandwich ($9.50).
For dessert, head to Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Shop. Milkshakes and smoothies are $7, and ice cream in a cup or cone runs $5.
