For the first game of Saturday’s Subway Series, Fox planned to have veteran WFAN caller Jerome from Manhattan give the Yankees’ starting lineup.

However, the Yankees objected to Jerome’s involvement, and the idea was nixed, sources said. Fox planned to have Jerome provide commentary with the lineup, which apparently scared the Yankees.

Jerome, whose last name is Mittleman, was to tape the lineup segment outside the Yankee dugout. Fox had also hoped to have another FAN caller, Doris from Rego Park, do the Mets’ lineup.
