Jeremy Hall part of Generation adidas class
MLS and adidas unveiled the latest nine-player Generation adidas class today. They’ve all signed with the league and can be taken in the upcoming SuperDraft.
Last year’s class produced the top three picks in the draft, and this year’s class includes Akron’s Steve Zakuani _ the nation’s top scorer with 20 goals and a Hermann Trophy finalist _ and three members of Maryland’s NCAA-championship team. And no, Red Bull fans, Matt Kassel isn’t among them.
But there’s talent throughout. Here’s the full list: Kevin Alston (Indiana), Danny Cruz (UNLV), Stefan Frei (Cal), Omar Gonzalez (Maryland), Jeremy Hall (Maryland), Baggio Husidic (Illinois – Chicago), Peri Marosevic (Michigan), Rodney Wallace (Maryland) and Zakuani (Akron).
Gonzalez, Hall, and Wallace were all key to the Terps’ title, with centerback Gonzalez also a Herman finalist and likely to go in the top three picks. Like Gonzalez and Husidic (0.77 GAA) are first-team adidas/NCSAA All-Americans, while goalkeeper Frei (0.77) was last year. Cruz, 19, is the youngest member of the class, and a member of the U.S. U-20 team.
