Horace Mann is one step closer to realizing its season-long goal.

Miranda Shapiro had 14 assists, libero Margot Penn had 10 digs and Ashley Reid had six kills to lead the the top-seeded Lions to a 25-19, 25-11 win over visiting and fourth-seeded Chapin in the NYSAISAA girls volleyball semifinals Friday in The Bronx. Mann (11-1), ranked No. 8 in New York City by The Post, will meet second-seeded Brearley with a chance at its first title Sunday at ? p.m. at SUNY Purchase.

“We are extremely excited to play in the final,” Lions coach Jason Torres said. “One of our goals is to win the state championship and now we have that opportunity.”

Mann not only hasn’t won a NYSAIS title, but the Lions had not won an Ivy League regular-season title in three decades before four years ago. The Lions have a chance to come full circle against Brearley, a team they beat in a non-league game this season. Mann was able to pull out a back and forth first set against Chapin before asserting itself more in the second.

“We took an early lead and never looked back,” Torres said. “The girls played to their potential and secured a win.”
