Bill Gonillo, the face and voice of Fairfield County sports over Cablevision’s News-12 and a steady contributor to MSG Network’s high school sports programming, was found dead Monday at his Woodbridge, Conn., home.

Gonillo, who grew up in Waterbury, was 44 and single. No cause of death has been reported, but he was an acute diabetic.

Gonillo, the sports director at Norwalk-based News 12-Conn. the last 12 years, was Yale’s football play-by-play man during the 1990s over New Haven’s WELI-AM.

“He was all over Connecticut sports, all the time,” said Post sportswriter Mike Puma, formerly of the Connecticut Post, “And when you left Bill, you left laughing. Big loss, a bad loss.”
