It’s a fait accompli that U.S. National Team Oguchi Onyewu defender is leaving Belgian side Standard Liege for a bigger league. The question has been where will Gooch end up? Well, now it looks like Fulham and the EPL might be his eventual destination.

Birmingham had been chasing the big centerback, but Skysports.com reported that Fulham are trying to hijack the bid by the newly-promoted Blues, in desperate need of upgrading their defense for the EPL rigors. The toweriing 27-year-old Onyewu is free on a Bosman transfer from Standard Liege.
