Hondo’s sail with the Pirates yielded some filthy lucre last night as they stomped the ’Stros to cut the NRN (nasty red number) to 1,595 lollars.

Tonight, Sale looks like a bargain – 10 units on the Chisox to handle Roy Harvey Oswalt’s firepower. Also, he will try to get over with Nova and Harrell – 10 units apiece on the Yanks and ’Stros.

Alec Baldwin announced yesterday he is now a Twitter quitter. While that’s a devastating loss for the Twitter-verse, it will give Angry Alec more time to engage in his favorite pastime: beating up photographers . . . Rumor has it Baldwin and his new bride, yoga instructor Hilaria, have been working on a new position: the downward facing jerk . . . John Travolta was happy to see Anderson Cooper vacate the closet yesterday. It gives John a little more room to maneuver . . . Joe Torre says if it were up to him, Roger Clemens would be in the Hall of Fame. Obviously, Torre is maintaining the same see-no-evil policy he used when Clemens played for him.
