MIAMI – Five points. Two of 10 shooting. No points in the second half. That was Allan Houston’s line – one he will not have to live with the rest of summer.

Last year in this spot against Miami, Houston provided “The Bounce.” This time, he barely contributed anything to the Knicks’ Game 7 victory yesterday.

Houston admitted his sore left ankle was much worse than he expected. Houston injured the ankle in Game 6 Friday and had it taped high for yesterday’s game 7 against the Heat.

“It was sore,” Houston said. “I thought it would feel better during the game than it actually did. The lord did pull me through, the bottom line. I did what I could do help the team. I expect to feel much better on Tuesday.”

On Tuesday, he’ll have to race around screens to stick with Reggie Miller of the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals. If Miller is on, the Knicks will not be able to beat the Pacers unless Houston gets healthier. Houston sprained the same ankle in February.

Houston admitted he was not going to push it because he felt limited and didn’t want to hurt the team.

“I took a step back,” said Houston, who took four shots in the second half, including two missed 3-pointers. “I was conscious of it more than anything else. I don’t know if I could have done more than I did or not. Bottom line is we win.”

Someone asked if he was as happy with the win since he was so limited. “You serious,” Houston asked. “Are you asking me if I would be happier if we lost. It’s a wonderful feeling we won. I did what I could.”

Houston believes Chris Childs, aware of Houston’s limitations, stepped up because of it. “I think so,” Houston said. “He probably sensed it. He just wanted to give us a chance. I don’t think he was saying ‘I’m going to take over the game,’ but he was aggressive. Since I’ve known him, he’s not a guy whose going to shy away.”
