This is how the Jets can qualify for the playoffs:

The Jets can clinch at least a wildcard berth with a win over the Lions Sunday at Giants Stadium. They, too, can lose to the Lions and get into the playoffs if the Steelers lose to or tie the Redskins Saturday and the Colts lose to the Dolphins Sunday.

Should the Jets win and the Dolphins lose, the Jets will go to Baltimore Dec. 24 tied with the Dolphins and playing their regular-season finale for the AFC East title.

Should Miami (10-4) and the Jets (9-5) finish the regular season tied, the Jets would win the division title based on their season series sweep of the Dolphins and gain at least one home playoff game.
