Today, let’s up the ante and try for a trifecta.

Despite playing in the Missouri Valley Conference, Indiana State suffered 13 losses this season.

I’m not sure what’s more likely to happen, Indiana State upsetting Syracuse or the Sycamores creating a time machine, traveling to 1979 and bringing back Larry Bird in time for tip-off.

I’m leaning toward the latter. Take the Orange (-12). Long Island has the longest winning streak in the country, as well as the most road wins, and has enough confidence and depth not to be intimidated by the moment or opponent.

Look for the Blackbirds (+17.5) to cover against an inexperienced, inconsistent Tar Heels team that hasn’t figured out how to play a full 40 minutes.

Also, Arizona has Derrick Williams. Further analysis would be an insult to the impact of the All-American forward. Take the Wildcats (-51⁄2) over Memphis.

Record: 10-1-1
