The Hulkster is sorry.
Hulk Hogan apologized on Friday for going on a racist rant about his daughter’s black boyfriend in the infamous sex tape that’s now at the center of a lawsuit with Gawker.
“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it,” the wrestling legend said in a statement.
“This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise.”
“I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs,” he added.
WWE dumped the wrestling icon when it was revealed that he went on an n-word laced tirade while discussing his daughter’s sex life.
“I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f–k some n—-r, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n—-r worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we’re all a little racist. F–king n—-r,” he said in the tape, sources told Radar Online and The National Enquirer.
While WWE insisted that the company “terminated its contract” with Hogan, the champ’s lawyer, David Houston, told The Post he resigned last night.
“He contacted WWE when he became aware the National Enquirer was going to publish a leaked transcript,” he said, adding Hogan didn’t want the company to suffer the consequences of his “bad actions.”
“He completely understands what they have to do and why they have to do it — it’s a family of sorts,” Houston said.
The lawyer added Hogan fully admits he made the racist comments and has “no excuses” for his bad behavior.
“He spent the last decade attempting to become a better person,” Houston said.
“Anyone who knows this man will tell you he is not a racist,” he insisted. “But the unfortunate part is that he used language that is toxic.”
