ISLES ROAD WARRIORS AGAIN
If last year is history, the Islanders do seem to have carried over at least one positive into this season – their play on the road.
After getting off to a stumbling start away from home, the Islanders went 4-1-1 in their last six, the tie coming Nov. 20 against the same Panther team they’ll meet tonight in Sunrise. The mini-trip concludes tomorrow night in Tampa.
The Islanders were 21-15-3-2 on the road last year, third in the NHL in road victories behind only Detroit (23) and Philadelphia (22), while going 21-13-5-2 at home.
While 5-5-2 on the road this year, they’re three games under .500 at the Coliseum, just 6-9-1. The Islanders are home Tuesday night against the Red Wings.
