The much-hyped return of Tiger Woods is off to a pretty good start.
Woods was one-under par through his first six holes Thursday at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. It is his first round of competitive golf in 301 days.
He drilled a 2-iron 260 yards on No. 3, setting up an eagle putt on the par-5 hole.

Woods settled for a birdie. He looked like the old Tiger on the next hole, sinking a long par putt and capping it with one of his signature celebrations.

Woods has had three back surgeries in the past 27 months, but said before the event started that he is “loving life.”
In November 2009, the 14-time major winner’s personal life unraveled when a series of infidelities became public. He was also arrested in May 2017 after a police officer found him at the wheel of his running car asleep at 3 a.m.
He hasn’t won a tournament of any kind since 2013, but other professionals who have played with him recently have helped fuel the hype about his comeback.
