What a week. In a flurry of activity that made Trader Joe’s jealous, the Mets traded Jeurys Familia to the A’s, Tampa Bay traded Nathan Eovaldi to the Red Sox, the Yankees acquired J.A. Happ and Zach Britton, Texas traded old Cole Hamels to the Cubs, the Mets are sending Asdrubal Cabrera to the Phillies and Facebook was trading at 174.89, down about $120 billion. And yes, Stitches is very grateful he wasn’t sent to the Daily News for future considerations. Quick look at the competition shows not only are we the Best Sports in Town, we’re the only sports in town.
The Dodgers are in Atlanta and Alex Wood faces the team that traded him three years ago. On Sunday, Wood gave up two runs to the Brewers in a rough first inning, but settled down to pitch shutout ball over the next five frames. The Braves counter with Max Fried, who comes off the DL. 20 units on the Dodgers.
Max Scherzer earned his 14th win. He allowed one run over eight strong innings and the Nats routed the Fish 9-1. Uptick in our stock has us at -859 zuckerbergs.
