Thomas Jefferson senior Edson Avila committed to Manhattan Sunday night, The Post has learned.
The talented 6-foot-9 forward is the latest city recruit to join coach Barry Rohrssen’s program, following his teammate, point guard Davontay Grace, and current freshmen Rhamel Brown (Transit Tech) and Mike Alvarado (All Hallows).
Avila averaged five points and five rebounds as a junior, helping the Orange Wave reach the PSAL Class A quarterfinals, but he has improved greatly since last winter.
The Bronx native picked the Jaspers over Fordham, Hofstra, Iowa, Wagner and Siena.
