Jelena Jankovic would like to make her first appearance at the Garden a memorable one.

Pairings released for the inaugural BNP Paribas Showdown for the Billie Jean King Cup on March 2 have Jankovic, who has the top seed after finishing last year as the No. 1 female tennis player in the world, paired against reigning Wimbledon champion Venus Williams. The other semifinal features Serena Williams (the current No. 1) against 2008 French Open champion Ana Ivanovic.

“We’ve had some real exciting matches in the past,” Jankovic said of Venus. “I look forward to playing against her and hopefully it will be a great match.”

The final of the event will be played the same day as the semis and broadcast on HBO.
