VERO BEACH – Five months later, Pedro Martinez and Karim Garcia are still going at it.

In last year’s ALCS Game 3, Martinez hit Garcia with a pitch, prompting a heated exchange that eventually escalated into a Yankee-Red Sox brawl.

Now the two have resumed their war of words, with Garcia now with the Mets.

The spat again was prompted by Martinez, who criticized Garcia on ESPN’s Sunday Conversation.

The most inflammatory part was when Martinez said, “Who is Karim Garcia? I have no respect for that guy.”

“I don’t have anything to prove to that guy,” Martinez went on. “He needs to be forcing himself to come up to where I am, to my level.”

Told of Martinez’ comments, Garcia replied, “If that floats his boat, that’s fine with me. He’s already thinking about me, and I’m not playing in the American League anymore.”

Asked if he had lost respect for Martinez, Garcia replied, “Who said I had respect for Pedro to begin with?”
