The Knicks were honored yesterday during an awards ceremony in Manhattan by PENCIL for their participation in school-related functions.

Allan Houston, Kurt Thomas and Steve Mills, President of the Garden’s sports teams, were on hand to accept the award for “efforts to promote and support public schools in New York City.”

PENCIL stands for Public Education Needs Civic Investment In Learning.
