Former St. John’s star Ron Artest worked out with Knicks scouts yesterday after the team practiced at Purchase College.

After leading the Red Storm to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, the 6-foot-7 Artest had announced that he would skip his final two seasons at St. John’s and go to the NBA.

With the Knicks picking 15th in the first round of the draft later this month, it’s unlikely they will have a chance at grabbing Artest, who is likely to go in the Top 10.

Artest is just the latest in a line of college and foreign players brought in to work out with the Knicks.

On Wednesday, Arizona 6-11 senior center A.J. Bramlett and German team member Olumide Oyedeji had workouts with Knicks scouts, too.
