Jason Kidd met with Donnie Walsh and Mike D’Antoni for a little over two hours today, but the Knicks did not make the free agent point guard a contract offer.
Before Kidd’s talk with the Knicks brass, he had a rendezvous with Mavericks’ billionaire owner Mark Cuban, who flew to New York last night. Cuban had made Kidd, who played for Dallas the past season and a half, his team’s top priority. ESPN is reporting Cuban is preparing an offer for Kidd a three-year deal in the $21 million to $25 million range, which is likely more years and money than what the Knicks can offer.
“It went well. Now we have to work out some details,” Cuban said.
