LONDON — U.S. entrepreneur Stan Kroenke gave Arsenal’s shareholders two weeks to accept his unconditional offer for their holdings after the English Premier League (EPL) ratified his controlling interest Saturday.

Kroenke, whose sports empire includes major interests in the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, NFL’s St. Louis Rams, MLS’ Colorado Rapids and NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, currently owns 66.06 percent of the Gunners following the sale of shares from former directors Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith and the state of the late Danny Fiszman.

With the EPL approving the change of ownership, Kroenke gave the club’s remaining shareholders 14 days’ notice on his unconditional offer to own 100 percent of the club.

Arsenal’s second largest shareholder with 27.37 percent, Alisher Usmanov, already insisted he will not sell to Kroenke, as has the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust, who own some of the remaining shares.
