Dana Dingle’s Long Island Lightning won the AAU 12-and-under national basketball championship yesterday in Newport News, Va., defeating the South East Elite squad from Alabama 67-54 in the finals.
The Lightning, 9-0 in the tournament, were led by Miles Davis, who had a game-high 22 points.
The team came out on top of a 142-team nationwide field.
