Davidson guard Stephen Curry said one final time that he would like to be drafted by the Knicks tomorrow night and run Mike D’Antoni’s fast-paced offense.
“Who wouldn’t?” Curry said on ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption” this afternoon. “I mean that’s a premiere position for a point guard who can score.”
Curry also admitted a desire to make Madison Square Garden his home court.
“I had a good game there this year (playing in college),” Curry said. “Hopefully that’ll be the way it goes all season.”
Curry did not admit that he knew where he was going, saying only, “Not to the Clippers,” who will take Oklahoma forward Blake Griffin with the No. 1 pick.
Curry said before pre-draft workouts he was told he would be selected in the 7-20 range, but it is believed he has risen to be drafted earlier than the top end. Lenn Robbins’ mock draft has him picked fifth by the Timberwolves.
But he seemed content to fall to the Knicks at No. 8.
“Hopefully I can keep it around seven, that would be a great spot for me tomorrow,” he said. “I’m just gonna have fun and enjoy the experience and get nervous tomorrow night.”
