You can count Miami-area real estate brokers among those happy LeBron James decided to take his talents to South Beach this fall.

Cleveland.com reports that Miami has seen the value of real estate properties in the area skyrocket since James’ infamous “Decision” on July 8.

Citing a report written by MiamiNewTimes.com’s Michael Miller, millionare Russell Wright and his wife spent $4.2 million on a penthouse located atop the Marquis skyscraper, which is located three blocks from James’ new basketball home, the American Airlines Arena.

Edgardo Defortuna, head of Fortune International Realty, says while it is difficult to quantify the LeBron Effect on the real estate market, it is very real.

Defortuna says he has sold 49 units at Icon Brickell since James decided to play for the Heat, and that foreign clients have inquired about taking their talents to South Beach as well.

“I’ve had friends from South America call and tell me they’ll buy an apartment,” Defortuna says, “but only if I can find them Heat tickets first.”
