Our readers have spoken — more than 25,000 votes were cast in the first round — and the Legends Mania field has been cut in half. Voting for the round of 32 runs from today through Monday.

The first round had its share of major upsets — 13th seeded John McEnroe in the Belmont Bracket and No. 11 seed Earl Monroe in the MSG Bracket pulled off the biggest shockers. There are also some big names gone from the contest already.

Derek Jeter is out. Mike Tyson. Gone. Mike Piazza, Michael Strahan, Yogi Berra. All first-round casualites.

In the Yankee Stadium Bracket, it’s No. 5 Willie Mays vs. No. 4 Mickey Mantle. No. 4 Walt Frazier is up against No. 5 Patrick Ewing in the MSG Bracket. Then, over in the Giants Stadium Bracket, No. 7 Phil Simms is pitted against No. 2 Joe Namath in a battle of legendary New York quarterbacks.
