INDIANAPOLIS — Ebony Hoffman scored 14 points and Tamika Catchings added 13 points and 11 rebounds, leading the Indiana Fever to a 63-54 victory over the Liberty last night.

Essence Carson had 14 points and Shameka Christon scored 11 for the Liberty (2-6).

The Libs have lost three in a row.

After trailing by 17 in the third quarter, New York pulled to 56-50 on Tiffany Jackson’s three-point play with five minutes left.

The Fever answered with Hoffman’s 3-pointer to regain the momentum.

Tully Bevilaqua finished with 13 points and Katie Douglas scored 11 for the Fever (6-2), who tied a franchise record with their sixth consecutive win.

Indiana, which also won six straight in July 2007, moved one game ahead of Washington atop the Eastern Conference standings.
