Two types of people walk into Carnegie Deli (7th Avenue and 55th Street): New Yorkers looking for a good pastrami sandwich and out-of-towners looking for the celebrity-soaked atmosphere.

With over 200 celebrity-named sandwiches already on the menu, yesterday one more was added with the new “VJ Classic,” named after New York Liberty guard Vickie Johnson.

“It’s a great honor,” Johnson said. “I wouldn’t have imagined it in my wildest dreams, just to be in the company of these great people. I don’t know if I’m worthy of it.”

The 3,000-calorie sandwich was created to commemorate Johnson becoming only the seventh player in WNBA history to score 3,000 points. With that accomplishment, Johnson joins WNBA elite such as Lisa Leslie and Sheryl Swoops, solidifying her career as one of the most consistent in league history.

“I give all the credit to my coaches and my teammates,” Johnson said as she tasted the sandwich that will bear her name.
