All you Red Bull fans holding out hope of somehow getting Lider Marmol can officially abandon all hope. He signed with Chicago.

The Paraguayan defender/defensive midfielder inked with MLS, and will join the Fire, the team announced today.

It ends a protracted, three-month long melodrama that has dragged on like a a horror flick with a dozen sequels. He trained with the Red Bulls for two months, but when it became clear the Fire would rather burn in you-know-where than deal with the Red Bulls (specifically Public Enemy No. 1 Juan Carlos Osorio), Marmol headed to the Windy City and agreed to terms.
