John McEnroe made his U.S. Open comeback as a player late last night to a roaring Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd.

Novak Djokovic’s next opponent was supposed to be Fernando Verdasco, but after he dispatched Radek Stepanek so thoroughly, he challenged the 50-year-old McEnroe to come down from the broadcasting booth and play. Djokovic and the Queens lefty legend played a few points.

Djokovic, the tour’s prankster, also did a hilarious imitation of McEnroe’s serving style.
